Location: Newark, New Jersey

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-week contract; every other weekend requirement; must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs

• Work in a premier 19-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit supporting critical care patients with variable acuity and stepdown capability
• Part of one of the largest pediatric critical care programs in New Jersey with 24/7 intensivist-led coverage
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity; Epic charting system utilized
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and interpretation services
• Float within skillset to Pediatrics and NICU as needed for appropriate assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience required
• 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred and must be documented on skills checklist
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Proficiency in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line management, ventilator care, telemetry monitoring, administration of vasopressors and continuous sedation, pediatric dosage calculations, and management of critically ill pediatric patients
• Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and TPN/Lipids administration
