Description
Start Date: June 22, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with 2-3 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
Highlights:
- Work in a 26-bed Level IV NICU within a Magnet-designated children's hospital
- Care for high-acuity neonates including post-operative surgical patients, cardiac cases, and those requiring advanced ventilation support
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- 24 hours of orientation with manageable patient ratios of 1:3
- Float opportunities to other pediatric units caring for patients under 12 months of age
- Travel nursing experience required; contract duration with up to two weeks of approved time off available
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license in hand at time of submittal
- Minimum 2 years total NICU Level III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU setting (hard requirement)
- BLS and NRP certification required (American Heart Association)
- PALS certification preferred
- Experience with post-operative neonates, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various invasive/noninvasive ventilation modes
- Proficiency in administration of blood products, central line management, arterial line management, high-frequency ventilation, and developmental care
- Epic charting experience required
- Must pass telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start (two attempts allowed)
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Previous travel nursing experience required; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
