Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN – New York

Start Date: July 21, 2026
Location: Rochester, New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, Day/Night rotation (0700-1900/1900-0700), every other weekend required

• 13-week contract with possible extension at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Complex care unit serving medical, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients
• High-acuity environment with 1:6 patient ratios; EPIC charting system
• Charge experience required; opportunity to lead and mentor in a dynamic setting
• Comprehensive case mix including telemetry monitoring, blood products, central lines, wound care, and more
• Floating required; non-local candidates only (must reside 75+ miles from facility)

Requirements:

• Active New York RN license in hand (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience managing 1:6 patient ratios (up to 1:7 in high-volume situations)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications (must provide valid NIHSS documentation)
• Competency in telemetry interpretation, IV starts, blood product administration, central line and PICC management, feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, airway management including tracheostomy and high-flow nasal cannula, orthopedic trauma care, and isolation precautions
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet experience and ratio requirements
• Cannot have more than 10 days of requested time off during contract period
