Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN – New York

Start Date: July 21, 2026
Location: Rochester, New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• 13-week contract with possible extension at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Complex care unit serving medical, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients
• High-volume environment with 1:6 patient ratio experience required; expect 1:5 to 1:7 ratios
• EPIC charting system utilized facility-wide
• Floating required; excellent opportunity to expand clinical skills across units
• Charge nurse experience required

Requirements:

• Active New York RN license in hand at time of submission (no exceptions)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing 1:6 patient ratios
• EPIC charting experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications (valid NIHSS documentation required)
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insertion and management, central line and PICC care, blood product administration, feeding tube management, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, high flow nasal cannula, and isolation precautions
• Experience with pacemakers (temporary and permanent), heparin protocols, chest tubes, PCA pumps, and thrombolytic agents
• Must reside more than 75 miles from facility
