Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN – New York

Start Date: July 21, 2026
Location: Rochester, New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 day/night rotation (0700-1900/1900-0700), every other weekend required

Highlights:

• 13-week assignment at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital with possible extension
• Complex care unit serving medical, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients
• EPIC charting system utilized across the facility
• High-volume unit with exposure to diverse patient diagnoses and advanced clinical skills
• Float pool participation required to support hospital-wide needs
• Pre-start modules are compensated (up to 5 billable hours)

Requirements:

• Active New York RN license in hand prior to submission (no exceptions)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing 1:6 patient ratios (assignment ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7)
• EPIC charting system experience is mandatory
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility location
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central line management, wound care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with diverse patient populations including orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, respiratory support (high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management), and complex medical conditions
