Job Opportunity – Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: July 20, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour evening/night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required

Highlights:

  • Mixed 21-bed Pediatric CVICU/PICU unit within a Magnet-designated facility featuring a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU
  • Comprehensive patient population including cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, neurological disorders, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO cases
  • 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios with 36 hours of orientation and interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Epic charting system with state-of-the-art equipment including CRRT, VAD, and ECMO
  • Float opportunities to NICU and general care units; 13-week assignment with up to two weeks of pre-approved time off
  • Family-centered care environment designed specifically for pediatric healing and comfort

Requirements:

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience with at least 1 year of cardiovascular ICU or cardiac step-down experience required
  • Strong Pediatric ICU experience in a high acuity hospital setting; candidates with extensive Level II trauma experience will be considered
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • AHA BLS and PALS certifications current and valid
  • Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date (80% passing score with strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
  • First-time travelers accepted with 3 years of high acuity hospital experience
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
