Description
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling to meet department needs; no external floating (rotation within all Emergency Department sections)
Highlights:
- 101-bed Emergency Department at a nationally recognized, Level II trauma center with comprehensive stroke center designation
- High-volume facility serving over 100,000 visits annually with diverse patient population spanning 120+ languages
- Patient ratios: 4:1 for medical cases, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds; supported by unit techs, clerks, and cardiac monitoring staff
- State-of-the-art equipment including Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner documentation system
- Magnet-designated facility recognized as one of America's Top 50 Hospitals with Leapfrog "A" Hospital Safety Grade
- Access to pediatric emergency services and regional referral center for critical care
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina RN license or multi-state compact licensure
- Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- 1+ year experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ visits)
- Current certifications required before start date: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work across all sections of the Emergency Department
