Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – ICU/Burn Unit – Wisconsin

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour evening/night shifts between 1900-0730, every other weekend required, some holidays

Highlights:

  • Work in an 11-bed acuity adaptable burn and wound care unit at a Level I Trauma Center
  • State's only verified pediatric and adult burn center providing specialized critical care
  • Patient ratio of 2:1 across all shifts with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
  • Epic charting system with 20 hours of orientation provided
  • Care for diverse patient populations including burns, wounds, and off-service ICU/IMC patients across all age groups
  • Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital

Requirements:

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only); PALS preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I preferred
  • Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (80% passing score with strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
  • Experience with ventilator management, central lines, vasoactive drips, arterial lines, and critical care procedures
  • Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
