Description
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week, day shift. Patient ratio 1:5-6. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract (flexible based on discussion). Manager-driven scheduling.
Highlights:
- Neurosurgical procedures and neuro-focused diagnoses on a 36-bed medical-surgical unit
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- 13 to 26-week contract length accepted with flexibility for blocked scheduling requests
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, respiratory services, and more
- Two unit-based orientation shifts following hospital orientation
- Float requirement within facility; may be assigned to storm/hurricane teams as part of emergency preparedness
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Active North Carolina or Compact state nursing license
- BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Neurology experience strongly preferred
- Skills in telemetry, IV management, stroke care (CVA), and non-invasive airway management preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability and willingness to work during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations
