Job Opportunity – Cardiac Operating Room Nurse – Pennsylvania

Start Date: September 2026

Location: Pennsylvania

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 1:2 staffing ratio, 5 on-call shifts per month (days and hours vary), weekend on-call coverage required, no holiday requirement

Highlights:

• Advanced cardiovascular surgical program specializing in CABGs, aortic and mitral valve repairs/replacements, heart transplants, dissections, and LVADs
• Opportunity to work with complex vascular and thoracic procedures including EVAR, TEVAR, TCAR, and open AAA repairs
• Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating for cardiac surgery cases
• Epic electronic medical record system with scrubs provided
• Flexible floating to general OR services (General, Urology, ENT) approximately once weekly based on cardiac volume
• 13-week contract with first-time travelers accepted when appropriately experienced

Requirements:

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact State nursing license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac OR experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Pennsylvania fingerprinting and background clearance required
• Demonstrated competency in both scrub and circulate roles for cardiac procedures
• Required cardiac experience: CABGs, aortic/mitral valve repairs and replacements, heart transplants, dissections, and LVAD placement
• Preferred vascular and thoracic experience: EVAR, TEVAR, TCAR, open AAA, lobectomies, thoracotomy, and VATS procedures
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in fast-paced surgical environments
