Description
Start Date: September 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am depending on unit needs). Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. 36-hour orientation provided.
Highlights:
- 21-bed state-of-the-art Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU within a Magnet-designated facility
- Mixed unit caring for CVPICU and PICU patients with Level 1 Trauma Center capabilities
- Comprehensive patient population including cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, ECMO, critical neurological disorders, and multi-system organ failure
- 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- EPIC charting system; opportunity to work with advanced technologies including CRRT, VAD, and ECMO
- May float to NICU and general care units as needed
Requirements:
- Wisconsin RN license or Compact State RN license
- Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience; at least 1 year of cardiovascular ICU or cardiac experience required
- Strong Pediatric ICU experience in a high-acuity hospital setting required
- Level II trauma experience preferred; Level I trauma experience a plus
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications
- Must pass telemetry competency exam with strict passing criteria prior to start (80% minimum score; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required)
- First-time travelers considered with 3+ years of high-acuity hospital experience
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
