Description
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Every other weekend required; scheduling based on departmental needs with flexibility to work across all sections of the Emergency Department
Highlights:
- 101-bed Emergency Department serving as a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
- High-volume facility managing over 100,000 annual visits with diverse patient populations
- Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients; robust support from ED techs, unit clerks, and specialized cardiac monitoring staff
- Cerner EMR system with state-of-the-art Baxter pumps and GE monitoring equipment
- Regional referral center for pediatric subspecialties, neonatal intensive care, and Level III NICU services
- Work in an award-winning facility recognized nationally for clinical excellence and patient safety
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Prior experience in a Level II trauma center and high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ annual visits) strongly preferred
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
