Description
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15), 36 hours per week, self-scheduling available. Every other weekend required. No call requirement.
Highlights:
- Pediatric Medical-Surgical and Hematology/Oncology unit serving patients ages 0-17
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6 across all shifts
- 24-hour orientation with self-scheduling flexibility
- Epic EMR, Pyxis, and SBAR communication system
- Contract duration: 20+ weeks through February 27, 2027 to support the unit through the holiday season
- Float opportunities to PICU and NICU as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Chemotherapy administration experience and certification strongly preferred
- IV start and lab draw/phlebotomy skills preferred
- Experience with central lines, ports, and peripheral line management
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted with 2 years of experience
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Additional Information:
- Pre-approved time off: Up to 7 days (no holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays

- Business casual attire: Fun pediatric-themed tops with navy pants (scrubs not provided)
- Pre-start online modules required (8-10 hours, non-billable)
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted with rate adjustment
