# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Western North Carolina**Start Date:** September 22, 2026**Location:** Asheville, North Carolina**Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants**Schedule:** 48 hours guaranteed per week; overtime available after 48 hours; every other weekend required; 6-week assignment; 4-hour hospital orientation followed by 8-hour floor shift**Highlights:**- Work in a 101-bed Emergency Department at a Level 2 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center serving over 100,000 visits annually- Typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients; flexibility to work across all ED sections- Utilize Cerner documentation system and modern equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors- Join a collaborative team known for exceptional teamwork and welcoming culture serving a diverse, multicultural community representing over 120 languages- Tech support available in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage; unit clerks on days and nights- No floating outside the Emergency Department required**Requirements:**- Active North Carolina RN license (or compact state license)- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting- At least 1 year experience in a Level 2 Trauma Center or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits annually)- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before start date- ENPC certification within 90 days of hire- Strong teamwork mentality with ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department- Commitment to patient experience standards including AIDET and respectful communication**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This Emergency Department is recognized for its outstanding teamwork and welcoming environment, making it an ideal setting for experienced ED nurses seeking a supportive and collaborative culture.
