Description
Start Date: December 14, 2026
Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Rotating 8- and 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, holiday rotation required. Weekend-only and straight night positions will be considered. Opportunities available to pick up additional shifts.
Highlights:
- Level IV NICU experience with high-frequency ventilation (Jet & HFOV), nitric oxide therapy, and high-risk deliveries for gestational ages 22 weeks and above
- Collaborative environment with 6-14 respiratory therapists per shift; dedicated charge therapist for adult and pediatric services
- NICU staffed with 2-4 RTs per shift; PICU/Peds staffed with 1-3 RTs per shift
- 394+ bed acute care facility including 40-bed Level IV NICU, 8-bed PICU, 48-bed Adult ICU, and 24-bed Pediatrics unit
- Epic documentation system with advanced respiratory equipment including Hamilton ventilators, Bunnell HFJV, multiple NIV platforms, and comprehensive airway clearance devices
- Comprehensive orientation program with lab training and preceptor-guided clinical shifts
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapy experience required
- RRT (NBRC) required; CRT will be considered
- Level IV NICU experience essential, including ventilator management for micro preemies; PICU experience highly preferred
- North Dakota state license required or willingness to apply within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- BLS (AHA), NRP, and PALS (AHA) certifications required
- ACLS preferred
- Experience with high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and managing patients from 22 weeks gestational age and above
Responsibilities:
- Perform respiratory therapy assessments and protocol implementation for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
- Manage ventilator and non-invasive ventilation therapy across NICU, PICU, and adult populations
- Conduct arterial punctures and blood gas analysis
- Assist with intubations, tracheostomy changes, decannulation, and extubations
- Participate in emergency response teams, ICU rounds, and high-risk deliveries
- Provide medication delivery, airway clearance therapy, and patient education
- Support intrahospital patient transport as needed
