Description
Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 8 or 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period.
Highlights:
- 26-bed Level IV NICU within a Magnet-designated children's hospital connected to an academic medical center
- Care for critically ill newborns requiring the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including complex medical and surgical cases
- Experience with post-operative patients, ventilator management (invasive/noninvasive modes including NAVA), tracheostomy/vent care, and g-tube management
- Epic charting system utilized; 24 hours of orientation provided
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Patient-centered care model in a state-of-the-art facility designed specifically for pediatric healing
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years total NICU III/IV experience required, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU setting
- BLS and NRP certifications (American Heart Association only) required; PALS preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Must pass telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria (80% or higher; 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
- Willingness to float to all children's hospital units, including PICU, to care for patients less than 12 months of age
