Description
- 27-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU utilizing an acuity-adaptive care model for seamless ICU and step-down patient management
- Advanced cardiac surgical population including congenital heart disease patients requiring pre-op and post-op management
- Exposure to high-acuity procedures including ECMO cannulation/decannulation, CRRT, central line placement, conscious sedation, and sternal closures
- EMR: Meditech; Equipment includes Baxter and Medfusion IV pumps, Hillrom beds, Servo U ventilators, and GE radiant warmers
- Collaborative team of 90 staff members with dedicated charge nurses and patient care technicians on each shift
- Cross-training opportunities in PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, and pediatric oncology units
- Active RN license in Texas (or eligibility for licensure)
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse
- At least 2 years of PICU experience as a staff nurse
- Demonstrated experience caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative CHD management
- Proficiency in management of arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines
- Current PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications required
- Preferred: 3-4 travel contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU; experience with neonatal cardiac patients
