Description
Start Date: November 23, 2026
Location: Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation available: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730), Monday through Friday with 2-3 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period. Orientation week shift length may vary and include 8-hour shifts.
Highlights:
- 26-bed Level IV NICU within a Magnet-designated children's hospital providing comprehensive care for critically ill neonates
- Advanced patient population including post-operative patients, congenital heart disease, neurological disorders, and complex medical/surgical cases
- Epic electronic medical records system; interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and pharmacy
- Patient ratios of 1:3; daily census of approximately 17 patients with comprehensive ventilator support including NAVA technology
- Family-centered care model with opportunities to work with neonates requiring the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services
- Float responsibilities to pediatric units caring for patients less than 12 months of age, including PICU when needed
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or Compact State)
- Minimum 2 years total NICU Level III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU (recent acute care experience within the last 3 years required)
- BLS and NRP certifications required (American Heart Association only); PALS preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Demonstrated competency with post-operative patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- Skills required include central line management, arterial line management, IV vasopressor administration, high-frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Must pass telemetry exam with strict criteria (80% passing score; 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms)
- Candidates must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
