- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 7:00am–7:30pm / Night: 7:00pm–7:30am; rotation may be required)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- On-site Position: Hospital-based cardiac nursing role in Cleveland, OH
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 18 months of permanent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience (travel nursing experience accepted)
- Active Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license required at time of submission
- Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (must be active)
- One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in Cardiac Stepdown specialty (required)
- Ability to work at least every other holiday during the assignment
- Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation (2 attempts maximum)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- BCI/FBI fingerprinting and hospital badging required prior to start date
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and post-op thoracic/cardiac care preferred
Responsibilities — Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry Nurse
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgeries in a stepdown/telemetry setting
- Continuously monitor, assess, and respond to changes in cardiac status and patient condition
- Administer medications, cardiac treatments, and clinical interventions as prescribed (medication administration and titration per policy)
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and communicate findings to the interdisciplinary team
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on post-surgical care, cardiac recovery, discharge instructions, and secondary prevention
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR), supporting compliance and quality metrics
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and nursing-led clinical projects
- Float to similar units (stepdown/telemetry/medical-surgical) as needed to support hospital operations
