CVOR Surgical Technologist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030 - $2,190

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
- Assignment Type: Travel Surgical Technologist / Travel CVOR Tech
- Shift: Primary shift pattern: Day 4x10-Hour (06:30 - 16:30) and Day 4x10-Hour (12:30 - 22:30). Alternative shift options may be available, such as 2x8s and 2x12s or 5x8s, but the main configuration is 4x10s.
- Hours per Week: 40
- Call Requirements: 2-4 weeknights and 1-2 weekends per 4-week schedule (no call shift longer than 12 hours)
- Setting: Adult cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery — includes high-acuity CVOR cases
CVOR Surgical Tech Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR / cardiovascular operating room experience
- Previous travel experience required (travel surgical technologist)
- Must have Michigan Surgical Technologist license in hand at time of submission
- Must be able to cardiac scrub for complex cardiac procedures (LVAD/RVAD, CABG, heart transplant)
- BLS certification required
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
- 2 manager/supervisor references required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in adult cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries including heart transplant, LVAD/RVAD procedures, CABG, ECMO cannulation, MAZE, aortic aneurysm repair, valve replacements, and vascular bypasses
- Perform cardiac scrubbing and maintain sterile technique throughout perioperative workflow to ensure patient safety
- Operate and support advanced surgical systems and technologies, including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and SPD instrument tracking (Censitrac)
- Prepare and troubleshoot instrumentation, implants, and specialty equipment for complex cases
- Participate in scheduled call rotation (no call shift exceeds 12 hours)
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiology, perfusion, and perioperative team to support efficient case flow
- Contribute to a positive, flexible team environment and assist with training or mentoring when appropriate
