- Shift: Day shifts, 4x10-hour (07:00 – 17:30); Guaranteed 40 hours/week
Job Details – CVOR / OR Tech
- Unit: 20-5700 Surgery (CVOR focus, 21 operating rooms)
- Call Requirement: 12–18 days/month
- Weekend Requirement: 2–3 weekends per month
- Setting: High-volume, state-of-the-art operating room supporting cardiac, vascular, and multiple surgical specialties
Job Requirements – Certified Surgical First Assistant / RNFA
- Minimum 1 year recent experience as a CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant or RNFA; cardiac and vascular first assist experience required
- Proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting and independent CVOR procedures
- Current scrub experience in a fast-paced OR environment
- Valid Michigan license (or eligible for Michigan license)
- BLS certification required
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
- References required; previous travel and Level I trauma experience preferred
Key Responsibilities – Surgical First Assistant / OR Tech
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting and assist independently in cardiac and vascular surgeries
- Scrub and circulate across a wide range of surgical cases including orthopedics, vascular, gynecology, thoracic, and general surgery
- Provide department First Assist coverage; float as needed to support OR schedule
- Participate fully in call rotation and scheduled weekend coverage
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and transport to ensure seamless perioperative care
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, sterile technique, and clinical excellence in a fast-paced CVOR environment
