Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Location: Marquette, MI 49855 — Upper Peninsula nursing job
- Facility: 225-bed specialty care hospital with premier imaging, surgery, and laboratory services
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 8, 2026 – September 7, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), rotating weekends
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Unit: Acute Medical/Surgical (6th Floor) — Medical-Surgical RN / Med/Surg RN
- Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1
- Equipment: Telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pump, bladder scanner, Dynamaps
- EHR: Cerner (experience preferred)
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- Minimum 1 year of medical/surgical unit experience (2 years preferred)
- ACLS certification required
- BSN preferred
- Ability to float to similar units as needed
- Strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Compliance with facility dress code (Galaxy Blue or Navy scrubs)
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and geriatric patients (ages 18–125) on the medical/surgical unit
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and manage IV therapy
- Utilize telemetry and other specialized equipment for continuous patient monitoring
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EHR
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing training to support professional development
- Float to similar units as needed to support clinical operations
