Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Location: Marquette, MI 49855 — Upper Peninsula nursing job
• Facility: 225-bed specialty care hospital with premier imaging, surgery, and laboratory services
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 8, 2026 – September 7, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), rotating weekends
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Unit: Acute Medical/Surgical (6th Floor) — Medical-Surgical RN / Med/Surg RN
• Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1
• Equipment: Telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pump, bladder scanner, Dynamaps
• EHR: Cerner (experience preferred)

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of medical/surgical unit experience (2 years preferred)
• ACLS certification required
• BSN preferred
• Ability to float to similar units as needed
• Strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Compliance with facility dress code (Galaxy Blue or Navy scrubs)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and geriatric patients (ages 18–125) on the medical/surgical unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and manage IV therapy
• Utilize telemetry and other specialized equipment for continuous patient monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner EHR
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing training to support professional development
• Float to similar units as needed to support clinical operations
