Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,230 - $2,350
• Location: Crescent City, CA (95531) – Northern California travel nursing, gateway to the Redwoods and Pacific Coast
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse)
• Unit: ICU / Critical Care
• Shift: Night, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:15 - 07:15)
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 (ICU nurse staffing)
• Float Requirement: Possible float to ER or Med/Surg (last resort)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required

Job Requirements – ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience required (critical care nurse experience)
• BSN required
• Active California RN license (must be valid at time of submission) — California nursing jobs eligibility
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required and in hand at submission)
• Epic electronic charting experience preferred (Epic charting)
• Ability to float to ER or Med/Surg as needed; comfortable with nurse/patient ratios up to 1:4–1:5 when floating
• Availability for lab work within 3–5 days of signing
• 7-year work history verification required
• Only one holiday off approved during contract
• CCRN or other critical care certifications preferred (optional)

Responsibilities – Critical Care / ICU Nurse Duties

• Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients across all age groups (adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics)
• Manage and monitor patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure; provide advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Administer emergency medications and blood products according to ICU protocols
• Perform arterial line management and central line care; assist with chest tube insertion/removal
• Provide ventilator management and care for ventilated patients; manage BiPAP/CPAP
• Care for patients receiving CVVHD/CRRT and hemodialysis therapies
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and identify/respond to dysrhythmias
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and post-procedure care
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Radiology, Physical Therapy, and Social Services
• Float to ER or Med/Surg as needed to support patient care
