Job Details:

• Must have charge experience
• Full-time position requiring 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
• Work in an LDRP unit with 9 beds, 1 OBED bed, 4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1 until stable; NICU 1:3 intermediate care with minimum 2 NICU nurses required in unit at all times
• No unit secretaries or techs available on unit
• Perform daily rounding on all patients and SAFETY rounding
• Labor and delivery experience required including ability to labor and recover the mother and receive and transition the newborn including assessment
• Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred
• Advanced skills required: fetal monitoring education and experience with inductions including Pitocin and Cervidil
• Procedures performed on unit: C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
• Equipment used: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps
• Documentation systems: Meditech and CPN
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring training
• Dress code: Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security policy for the unit
• Float policy: Staff scheduled but not needed on unit are expected to float anywhere within the facility; some staff are cross-trained to float between LDRP and NICU

Facility:

This facility is a Joint Commission certified hospital holding designations as a Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, and Level II NICU. The Women's Services unit is an LDRP unit offering a comprehensive care environment for labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. The unit is supported by a highly experienced nursing team with many staff members holding 7 to 30 years of experience, creating an environment that is team-oriented and supportive for incoming contract staff.
