Opportunity:
RN - ED / Trauma
Job Details:
• 12-hour day shifts required
• 4 weekend shifts per month, at unit discretion
• Holidays based on unit coverage needs
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required
• Must have at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and ATCN (ENPC is not an acceptable substitute for PALS)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Charting system: Cerner EMR
• Must be proficient in reading telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
• Ventilators managed by Respiratory Therapy
• Must be competent in Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion; SIMs Lab is pass/fail
• Pass/fail exam on Day 1 of orientation; study guide provided
• 2-3 shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Scrub color: Navy
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Must have own vehicle as travel between facilities may be required
• May float between up to 4 facilities, approximately 30 minutes apart, including mid-shift floats
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
Facility:
This Trauma Level 1 facility operates a high-volume emergency department treating approximately 88,000 patients per year, with 250 to 300 patients seen daily. The emergency department includes 36 acute beds, 54 subacute beds, and 6 trauma bays, supported by a dedicated team including charge nurses, PCTs, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and pharmacy services including a pharmacist in the ER for 10 hours per day. The facility holds certifications as a Chest Pain Center and Spinal Cord TBI facility and is staffed by a minimum of 2 physicians with midlevel providers also utilized.
