Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab (Travel)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Facility: Cleveland Medical Center, University Hospitals
Position Overview
- Role: Pre and recovery RN for Cath and EP labs
- Environment: Busy lab with structural heart (SH), endovascular, cardiology, ablations, and devices
- Responsibilities:
- Access site management (TR Bands and Sheaths)
- Familiarity with emergent medications
- Strong assessment skills
- Experience with cardioversions and loop recorders
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- Valid permanent RN license (no temporary licenses accepted) with primary source verification within 30 days of start and updated every 2 years
Required Health & Immunization Credentials
- MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with signed declination, or positive titers within 15 years
- Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years (declinations not accepted)
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative results within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest x-ray and current TB questionnaire required
- Fit Test: Completed within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
- Physical/Health Statement: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct-Mar) or approved exemption
Background & Professional Requirements
- Ohio Fingerprints: BCI&I check and FCRA-compliant national criminal background check (FBI fingerprint check if less than 5 years residency)
- Criminal Background Check: Completed within 6 months prior to start, including SSN trace and national criminal sweep
- Social Security Trace and National Security Office (NSO) check (if not included in background check)
- OIG Search, SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC clearance: Completed within 6 months prior to start
- Drug Screen: 10-panel urine drug screen within 60 days prior to start (instant screens not accepted)
- Education Verification: Highest level verified; international education requires equivalency documentation
- Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party
- UHS I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- UHS Skills Checklist: Clinical skill-specific checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (initial hire only)
- UHS Competency Exam: Department-specific exam with minimum 80% score within 1 year prior to start
- UHS Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required
- UHS Module Completion Certificate: Completion of safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance
- Badge Photo: Professional headshot required
