Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Outpatient
Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), 40 hours per week
Contract Length: Approximately 26 weeks
Job Description
- Work primarily in an adult outpatient hand clinic.
- May float to other nearby facilities as needed.
- Full-time, 8-hour day shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Minimum of 3 years of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)
- Membership or certification with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
- Master of Science or Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience in a clinic setting
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Current and valid government-issued photo ID matching professional license.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, nationwide and specific county checks.
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work.
- Drug testing (standard 9-panel, excluding THC) within 30 days of start, renewed every 2 years.
- Immunizations and titers as applicable:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations accepted except medical exemptions).
- Two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-Spot) with specific timing requirements.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or vaccinations.
- Varicella titer or vaccinations.
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination during flu season.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved mask types required).
- Annual TB questionnaire.
- Cyber Security Awareness Training and Quiz (passing score required).
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually.
- Employment application with 7 years of work history and explanation of gaps over 30 days.
- Verification of 7 years of work history.
- Two supervisory references from recent employment.
Additional Notes
- Pass/fail medication and telemetry exams may be required depending on unit assignment.
- Candidates must review and acknowledge COVID-19 preparedness and facility-specific policies.
- COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not required.
- Candidates may be required to complete facility-specific learning modules prior to or during orientation.
- Compliance with facility-specific forms and attestations (e.g., wage parity forms, HIPAA agreements) is mandatory.
- Physical and health documentation requirements differ for clinical vs. non-clinical roles; this position is clinical.
This position is ideal for experienced Occupational Therapists with specialized hand therapy skills seeking a travel contract in a major California metropolitan area.
