Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Outpatient

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM), 40 hours per week
Contract Length: Approximately 26 weeks


Job Description

  • Work primarily in an adult outpatient hand clinic.
  • May float to other nearby facilities as needed.
  • Full-time, 8-hour day shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
  • Minimum of 3 years of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)
  • Membership or certification with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Master of Science or Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience working with adult patients
  • Experience in a clinic setting
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Current and valid government-issued photo ID matching professional license.
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, nationwide and specific county checks.
  • Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work.
  • Drug testing (standard 9-panel, excluding THC) within 30 days of start, renewed every 2 years.
  • Immunizations and titers as applicable:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations accepted except medical exemptions).
    • Two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-Spot) with specific timing requirements.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or vaccinations.
    • Varicella titer or vaccinations.
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination during flu season.
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved mask types required).
  • Annual TB questionnaire.
  • Cyber Security Awareness Training and Quiz (passing score required).
  • Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually.
  • Employment application with 7 years of work history and explanation of gaps over 30 days.
  • Verification of 7 years of work history.
  • Two supervisory references from recent employment.

Additional Notes

  • Pass/fail medication and telemetry exams may be required depending on unit assignment.
  • Candidates must review and acknowledge COVID-19 preparedness and facility-specific policies.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not required.
  • Candidates may be required to complete facility-specific learning modules prior to or during orientation.
  • Compliance with facility-specific forms and attestations (e.g., wage parity forms, HIPAA agreements) is mandatory.
  • Physical and health documentation requirements differ for clinical vs. non-clinical roles; this position is clinical.
