Job Overview

Juvenile Court Health Services (JCHS) in Downey, California is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a 16-week assignment in a locked juvenile forensic environment. This position involves delivering care to youth experiencing behavioral conditions, anxiety, and mood disorders while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and law enforcement personnel.

Key Responsibilities & Preferred Experience

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Correctional RN experience preferred; experience with juvenile populations or pediatric psych is a plus
• Clinical background in Med-Surg, Emergency Room (ER), Psychiatric, or Correctional settings
• Proficiency in phlebotomy (blood draws)
• Ability to commit to 3–5 shifts per week without block scheduling

Key Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
• LA City Fire and Life Safety Card
• Completion of LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to start
