**Position / Specialty: Medical Surgical** **Years of Experience Required:** - 2 years (First timers accepted with more than 2 years of experience) **Certifications Required:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred **Licensure:** - IN-STATE LICENSE / REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS MUST BE IN HAND PRIOR TO SUBMISSION - Pending License not accepted **Leadership Experience:** - Previous Charge Experience preferred **Experience and Skills Required:** - Patient Ratio Experience: 6 - Preferred experience with Cerner (Charting System) - Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), Feeding tube care and management, Heparin Protocols, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Mastectomy, MS/Tele, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, PCA, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Seizure disorders, Starting and maintaining IVs, Substance Withdrawal, Surgical drains, Telemetry - remote monitoring, Total joint replacement, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Wound Care/Wound Vac **Patient Care Details:** - Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics - Community Hospital Experience preferred **Other Requirements:** - Must work 2/3 major holidays - Floating is 100% required of all travelers, though not likely to occur - 18 months experience required (exceptions possible depending on unit) - 2 supervisor references required - Travelers' university must be accredited by the ACEN or CCNE **Special Note:** - Local individuals and certain positions/providers have specific rules regarding acceptance. For MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, and ER positions, locals are not accepted.
