Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Maryville, Tennessee 37804 (Tennessee nursing jobs)
• Unit: The Family Birthplace (12 beds)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (18:45 – 07:15)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1820 – $1870
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Floating: Required to other hospital units based on clinical skill set
• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

• Active Tennessee RN license or compact state Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience (travel RN experience required; no first-time travelers)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced/Beginner preferred)
• At least 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Ability to float to other clinical units as needed based on competency
• Weekend coverage and call required
• Previous charge nurse or nursing leadership experience preferred

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including triage assessments, inductions, cesarean sections, external versions, and newborn resuscitation/stabilization
• Administer medications and perform specialized procedures such as Magnesium Sulfate administration, amnioinfusion, and antihypertensive therapy
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum care
• Conduct newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, lactation support, and parent education
• Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate charting and patient documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards
• Float to other hospital units as needed based on clinical skill set
