Description
PCU Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Kansas City, Missouri
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Pending license accepted
- Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
- Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Block scheduling is not available
Required Qualifications
- Valid Missouri RN license
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Relevant Clinical Skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Rapid response/code team support
- IV starts and maintenance
- PICC line management
- Peripheral line care and management
- Feeding tube care and management
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Epidural analgesia and PCA
- Surgical drains and chest tubes
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Wound care and wound vac management
Patient Population
- Bariatric surgery
- Urology cases
- Hepatobiliary surgery
- Colorectal surgery
- Trauma patients
- Patients with necrotizing soft tissue infections requiring serial debridement and wound vac changes
