PCU Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Kansas City, Missouri
Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
First-time travelers are not accepted
Pending license accepted
Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
No on-call requirement
Block scheduling is not available

Required Qualifications

Valid Missouri RN license
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Relevant Clinical Skills

Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Rapid response/code team support
IV starts and maintenance
PICC line management
Peripheral line care and management
Feeding tube care and management
Continuous bladder irrigation
Epidural analgesia and PCA
Surgical drains and chest tubes
Isolation precautions and PPE
Wound care and wound vac management

Patient Population

Bariatric surgery
Urology cases
Hepatobiliary surgery
Colorectal surgery
Trauma patients
Patients with necrotizing soft tissue infections requiring serial debridement and wound vac changes
