Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Typically every 4th weekend, with weekday coverage
• On-Call: Yes, weekday call from 3 PM to 7 AM on a rotating basis; not every weekday
• Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including sister units/facilities
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 4 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Annual background check within 1 year of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Must include SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
  • Background check must be run within 90 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification pending
• Work History Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified; attestation letters accepted only if other verification methods exhausted
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references required, including at least one from the same unit
• Employment Application: Must include all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands without restrictions
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; no instant tests accepted
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form required
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if low titer
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
• TB Testing: Negative T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days of start; if positive, chest x-ray and annual questionnaire required
• Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations; documentation must be uploaded by December 5 deadline
• COVID-19 Vaccination: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
• Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required via RespSafety virtual questionnaire

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Orientation: Completion of First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay modules prior to start; estimated 2-6 hours depending on location
• Photo for Badge: Passport-style color photo with solid light background, frontal view, cropped from shoulders up; no sunglasses or hats
• Job Description: Unit-specific job description must be completed prior to start
• Confidentiality and Security Agreement: Must be completed before starting
• Contractor Forms: Must be completed prior to start
• Radiation Badge: Required for OR RNs; candidates cannot start without it; process may take 5-7 days to receive
• Physical Assessment for Sterile Processors: Not applicable for this RN role (only for Sterile Processing Techs)

Additional Notes

• Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Travelers should be aware of potential emergency response assignments during hurricane season (June–November), especially August and September
• All required documents must be submitted and verifications started within 48 hours of contract signing
