Description

PCU RN

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Overview

Stepdown unit
Floating is required
Preference is given to candidates with both ICU and PCU experience
Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience required
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3, not guaranteed
Travelers may be downstaffed 36/48 hours in a 13-week contract based on weekly schedule

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
IV Insertion
PICC/Central Line Management
Vascular Device Access/Care
Dialysis Fistula Care/Management
A-Line Management
Trach Care
Epidural/PCA pumps
Feeding Tubes
Wound Vac
Vasoactive Drip Titration (neosynephrine, amiodarone, cardizem)

Preferred Qualifications

CVP
Obtain 12-lead EKG
Sheath removal
Cardioversion/defibrillation

Clinical Focus

Surgical, medical, and occasional neuro patients
Vasoactive drip titration required, including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem
Common equipment includes bladder scanners, IV pumps, PCA pumps, SCDs, bipaps, cpaps, optiflows, vapotherms, and airvos
