Description

PCU RN

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Overview

  • Stepdown unit
  • Floating is required
  • Preference is given to candidates with both ICU and PCU experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience required
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3, not guaranteed
  • Travelers may be downstaffed 36/48 hours in a 13-week contract based on weekly schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • IV Insertion
  • PICC/Central Line Management
  • Vascular Device Access/Care
  • Dialysis Fistula Care/Management
  • A-Line Management
  • Trach Care
  • Epidural/PCA pumps
  • Feeding Tubes
  • Wound Vac
  • Vasoactive Drip Titration (neosynephrine, amiodarone, cardizem)

Preferred Qualifications

  • CVP
  • Obtain 12-lead EKG
  • Sheath removal
  • Cardioversion/defibrillation

Clinical Focus

  • Surgical, medical, and occasional neuro patients
  • Vasoactive drip titration required, including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem
  • Common equipment includes bladder scanners, IV pumps, PCA pumps, SCDs, bipaps, cpaps, optiflows, vapotherms, and airvos
