Job Type

Travel/Contract

Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 3x12 hours
  • 36 hours per week

Assignment Details

  • Patient ratio: 1:5
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities
  • Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be required
  • Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
  • No block schedule
  • No on-call requirement
  • RTO limit: no more than 7 days

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred

  • Previous charge experience
  • Teaching hospital experience

Clinical Skills

  • Telemetry and cardiac telemetry monitoring
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Rapid response support
  • Post-cardiac, post-MI, angiogram, and pre/post cardiac cath care
  • Pre/post cardiac surgery care
  • IV insulin protocols
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Pre/post hemodialysis management
  • Blood product administration
  • Central line, PICC, peripheral line, and IV management
  • Heparin protocols
  • Cardiac drip management
  • PCA and procedural sedation administration
  • CVA care
  • Peripheral nerve block catheters
  • Total joint replacements
  • Surgical drains
  • Chest tubes
  • CPAP/BIPAP
  • High-flow nasal cannula
  • Nasal cannula and oxygen mask support
  • Non-invasive airway management
  • Tracheostomy management
  • Isolation precautions
  • Wound care and wound vac care
