Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 8 weekend shifts in each 6-week schedule period
• Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
• Block scheduling is not available
• No on-call requirement

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Missouri
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS

Clinical Skills

• MS/Tele
• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Rapid Response/Code team support
• Feeding tube care and management
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Peripheral line care and management
• PICC line management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Epidural analgesia
• PCA
• Surgical drains
• Chest tubes
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Wound care and wound vac management

Patient Population

• Bariatric surgery
• Urology cases
• Hepatobiliary cases
• Colorectal cases
• Trauma patients
• Patients with abdominal injuries
• Patients with necrotizing soft tissue infections requiring serial debridement and wound vac changes

Additional Notes

• RTO limit: no more than 7 days
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• Primary post-op pain control methods include epidural, PCA, ketamine drip, and/or lidocaine infusion
• Many patients have drains, catheters, NG tubes, chest tubes, G-tubes, J-tubes, GJ tubes, and wound vacs
