RN - PCU
Location
Asheville, North Carolina
Job Type
Travel
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday support required
- 36 hours per week
- Floating required
Unit Overview
- 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit
- Patient ratios: 2:1 for ICU, 4-5:1 for PCU
- No unit secretaries or PCTs
- Charge nurse is out of staffing
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- Critical care pharmacology including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Central line management
- Comfort with hemodynamic monitoring
- Comfort with ventilator management
Key Skills and Experience
- Critical care pharmacology
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- Central line management
- Ability to assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations
- Critical thinking, flexibility, and teamwork
Additional Details
- Cerner documentation system
- Navy blue or white scrubs required
