Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
Current Pennsylvania state license for Respiratory Therapy
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages in a hospital environment
Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory therapy procedures as prescribed
Monitor patient responses and adjust respiratory treatments as needed
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and best practices
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and procedures
