- Location: On-site in Philadelphia, PA (19104) – University City neighborhood
- Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Hospital / Critical Care / Trauma
- Setting: Hospital – High-volume trauma center
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend required
- Start Date: May 25, 2026
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT in a hospital setting; high-volume trauma and critical care experience required
- Proven skills in ventilator management, airway management, ABG analysis, and oxygen therapy
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend as scheduled
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and ability to perform in fast-paced acute care environments
- Preferred: BLS/ACLS certifications and prior experience with EMR documentation (preferred but not required)
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to patients across trauma, medical-surgical, and critical care units
- Perform assessments, treatments, and interventions for acute and chronic respiratory conditions
- Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation and ventilator weaning protocols
- Administer aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and perform airway management and suctioning
- Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and implement appropriate interventions
- Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and participate in code and rapid response teams
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, nurses, and allied health—to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and adhere to hospital policies and respiratory care protocols
