CT Technologist Travel Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,490–$2,670

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Call: Not required; additional call shifts may be available
- Floating: No routine floating; may assist inpatient imaging if emergency department needs decrease
- Orientation: 80 hours
CT Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of CT Technologist or CT Tech experience
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography (ARRT(R), ARRT(CT))
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with contrast preparation and administration, peripheral IV insertion, radiation safety, and isolation precautions
- Experience with adult acute care, emergency department, intensive care, trauma, outpatient, and inpatient imaging is preferred
- Experience with 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction, vascular CTA, coronary CTA, cardiac studies, and brain perfusion is preferred
- GE Revolution scanner experience preferred; Philips and Canon experience is a plus
- Experience with PACS and electronic charting systems; Epic experience preferred
- Ability to care for patients ranging from neonates and infants to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Successful completion of required clinical screening and onboarding requirements
CT Imaging Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic CT examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and radiation-safety standards
- Complete routine and advanced computed tomography studies of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, vascular system, heart, and musculoskeletal structures
- Prepare patients for examinations, verify orders, explain procedures, and promote comfort and safety throughout the imaging process
- Start peripheral IVs and prepare or administer contrast media according to established protocols
- Produce high-quality CT images using appropriate positioning, scanning parameters, and reconstruction techniques
- Perform 3D rendering, maximum intensity projection, surface-shaded display, volume rendering, and multiplanar reconstruction when indicated
- Recognize urgent findings and communicate appropriately with the clinical care team
- Document examinations accurately in the electronic medical record and imaging systems
- Maintain equipment, follow infection-prevention procedures, and support a safe, efficient imaging environment
- Collaborate with radiology, nursing, respiratory services, IV teams, rapid response teams, and other healthcare professionals
