Description
Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Labor and Delivery)
Location
- Carthage, Tennessee
- Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital with Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum units
- Approximately 1 hour from Nashville
- Access to nearby water activities (fishing, boating, etc.)
Employment Type
- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend rotation / as needed
- Call requirement: 3 twelve-hour shifts per 4-week schedule
- Float as needed
Unit Details
- Labor & Delivery Department
- 2 labor beds and 3 postpartum beds
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
- Electronic Health Record system: Meditech
- Patient population: Maternity women and newborns
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in OB/GYN, Nursery, and Postpartum nursing
- Required certifications prior to start:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
- Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Experience with Centricity and Meditech EHR systems
- Experience with fetal monitoring and couplet care
Job Expectations
- Perform nursing duties in Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum units
- Positive attitude, cooperative, and self-initiative required
- Dress code: Scrubs of any color; casual or other facility apparel not allowed
Note: Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel.
