Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Labor and Delivery)

Location

• Carthage, Tennessee
• Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital with Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum units
• Approximately 1 hour from Nashville
• Access to nearby water activities (fishing, boating, etc.)

Employment Type

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend rotation / as needed
• Call requirement: 3 twelve-hour shifts per 4-week schedule
• Float as needed

Unit Details

• Labor & Delivery Department
• 2 labor beds and 3 postpartum beds
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Electronic Health Record system: Meditech
• Patient population: Maternity women and newborns

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in OB/GYN, Nursery, and Postpartum nursing
• Required certifications prior to start:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
• Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Experience with Centricity and Meditech EHR systems
• Experience with fetal monitoring and couplet care

Job Expectations

• Perform nursing duties in Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum units
• Positive attitude, cooperative, and self-initiative required
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color; casual or other facility apparel not allowed

Note: Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel.
