Registered Nurse - OB/GYN

Location: Athens, Tennessee

Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: As needed

Unit & Patient Population

• Unit: OB/GYN (includes Med Surg, Post Partum, Pediatrics)
• Number of Beds: 14
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5+
• Patient Population: All ages
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Bowel obstruction, hip fracture, cholelithiasis, appendicitis, postpartum care
• Electronic Health Records (EHR): MedHost, Centricity Perinatal

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Med Surg, Post Partum, and Pediatrics
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Required Certifications prior to start:

  • ACLS
  • AWHONN
  • BLS
  • HWC
  • NRP
  • PALS
• Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start

Skills & Experience

• Must have skills/experience:

  • IV placement
  • NG tube placement
  • Fundal checks
• Preferred experience: Medical/Surgical nursing
• Float requirements: As needed

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
• Due to low birthrate, medical surgical patients will be accepted on the floor
• Professional and team player personality fit preferred
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no camouflage or logo shirts/sweatshirts except facility-branded attire

• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
