Registered Nurse - OB/GYN
Location: Athens, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Shift: See shift details
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: As needed
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit: OB/GYN (includes Med Surg, Post Partum, Pediatrics)
- Number of Beds: 14
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5+
- Patient Population: All ages
- Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Bowel obstruction, hip fracture, cholelithiasis, appendicitis, postpartum care
- Electronic Health Records (EHR): MedHost, Centricity Perinatal
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Med Surg, Post Partum, and Pediatrics
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Required Certifications prior to start:
- ACLS
- AWHONN
- BLS
- HWC
- NRP
- PALS
- Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start
Skills & Experience
- Must have skills/experience:
- IV placement
- NG tube placement
- Fundal checks
- Preferred experience: Medical/Surgical nursing
- Float requirements: As needed
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
- Due to low birthrate, medical surgical patients will be accepted on the floor
- Professional and team player personality fit preferred
- Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no camouflage or logo shirts/sweatshirts except facility-branded attire
Notes
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
