Registered Nurse - OB/GYN

Location: Athens, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: As needed

Unit & Patient Population

• Unit: OB/GYN (includes Med Surg, Postpartum, Pediatrics)
• Number of Beds: 14
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5+
• Patient Population: All ages
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Bowel obstruction, hip fracture, cholelithiasis, appendicitis, postpartum care
• Electronic Health Records (EHR): MedHost, Centricity Perinatal

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in OB/GYN, Medical-Surgical, Postpartum, and Pediatrics patient care
• Required Certifications prior to start:

  • ACLS
  • AWHONN
  • BLS
  • HWC
  • NRP
  • PALS

Work Environment & Expectations

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
• Float requirements: As needed
• Dress Code:

  • Scrub color: Any
  • No camouflage or logo shirts/sweatshirts except those from the facility
• Personality Fit: Professional and team player

Additional Notes

• Due to low birthrate, medical-surgical patients will also be cared for on the floor
• Facility includes emergency, inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, long-term care, geriatric behavioral health, and advanced wound care services (context for community served)
