Registered Nurse - OB/GYN (Labor and Delivery)

• Carthage, Tennessee

Employment Type

• Travel contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit and Patient Population

• Labor and Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum Units
• 2 labor beds and 3 postpartum beds
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Patient population: Maternity women and newborns

Work Schedule

• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Weekend hours: every other weekend rotation / as needed
• Call requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts per 4-week schedule
• Float to other units as needed

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Registered Nurse license valid in Tennessee
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Proficient in fetal monitoring
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Additional Requirements

• Must pass Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to assignment start
• Positive attitude, cooperative, and shows initiative
• Dress code: scrubs of any color; casual or other facility apparel not allowed

Electronic Health Record (EHR) System

• Meditech

Preferred (Not Required) Skills

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Experience with Centricity and Meditech systems

Orientation

• Weekly orientation sessions on Mondays
