Schedule

Overnight shift: 7pm - 7:30am, Friday, Saturday, Sunday; holidays, on-call, and callback per unit needs.

Job Description

The CT Technologist is responsible for confirming patient identity and exam verification before initiating scans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. They will coordinate with physicians, prepare patients for scans, explain procedures to alleviate patient anxiety, and insert IVs as needed. Additionally, this role includes positioning patients safely, maintaining accurate records within EPIC, and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system accurately after each exam. The CT Technologist also maintains a clean and safe scanning facility.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and scan verification.
• Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare and explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort.
• Insert IVs when necessary.
• Position patients safely and appropriately.
• Document patient records accurately in EPIC.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the scanning facility.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting position).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with Siemens and Philips equipment preferred.
