Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the Clinical Specialist, the Manager, and the Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced, Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. The technologist utilizes their specialized modality to create diagnostic images while ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients. Technologists support teaching and continue learning as the technology evolves.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (both stable and in intensive care), and patients requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures.
• Practice and enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health code part 16.
• Assist in the clinical evaluation and care of patients undergoing CT scanning, including trauma and emergency cases.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School and a high school graduate.
• Licensure: New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York.
• Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR, or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
• Experience: Entry-level candidates with limited or no experience are welcome; skill set will be assessed for MIT Level assignment.
