Monday to Friday, 3pm to 11:30pm, with holidays, on call, and callback as per unit needs.

Job Description

As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for confirming patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans, adhering strictly to department policies to ensure patient safety. You will coordinate with physicians to provide necessary diagnostic imaging, prepare patients for scans, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort. In addition, you may need to insert IVs and position patients safely, which may include assisting those with limited mobility. Accurate documentation of patient records in EPIC and ensuring images are correctly sent to the PACS system upon completion of exams is essential. Maintaining a clean and safe scanning environment is also part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and verify exams before scans.
• Coordinate with physicians for diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare and explain procedures to patients to enhance comfort.
• Insert IVs as necessary for tests.
• Position patients safely, including assistance with limited mobility.
• Document all necessary components in EPIC accurately.
• Ensure correct image transmission to PACS post-exam.
• Maintain a clean and secure scanning facility.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure (must obtain prior to starting position).
• Two years of Level 1 Trauma Center experience.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association only.
• Siemens scanner experience preferred, with at least six months of experience.
• Epic experience is highly desired.
