Job Description

The CT/Radiologic Technologist performs technical radiographic assignments, demonstrating expertise in the principles and methods of CT and Radiologic Technology. They are responsible for conducting diagnostic radiographic studies as required and operating portable diagnostic radiographic equipment as needed. Adherence to infection control protocols and the ability to provide care to diverse patient demographics, including infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operates Radiographic, CT, image processors, and other related equipment effectively.
• Evaluates images for quality and ensures accurate positioning according to procedure guidelines.
• Provides clear instructions to patients during procedures to alleviate stress.
• Maintains competency in two specific modalities.
• Ensures radiation protection protocols are adhered to for self, patients, and staff.
• Demonstrates flexibility to cover emergency call shifts, including weekdays and holidays.
• Maintains competency in RIS and PACS systems for patient exam management.
• Performs required Quality Control activities and follows NYSDOH Part 16 guidelines.
• Manages occupational exposure risks associated with blood borne pathogens.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1-year experience as a CT Technologist, with solid Radiologic Tech/X-Ray or C-Arm experience.
• Current ARRT certification and New York State License.
• BLS certification is required.
