Job Description
The CT Technologist will demonstrate professionalism and service excellence while performing various tasks pertinent to imaging procedures. The role includes maintaining patient privacy, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready for procedures, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
Responsibilities
- Obtain necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies according to established protocols.
- Maintain sterility of the field and instruments during procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to alleviate anxiety and ensure their dignity is respected.
- Verify patient identification according to policy and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patients' conditions before and after contrast injections, reporting any sudden changes.
- Ensure the availability of medical records, previous reports, and patient history.
- Prepare for emergency response in case of complications.
- Maintain adequate supplies in each scanning room and participate in daily inventory and stocking.
- Clean and inventory supplies, ensuring orderliness and cleanliness in the working area.
- Maintain QA/QC requirements for equipment operation and alert personnel of any malfunctions.
- Appropriately handle urgent cases, ensuring timely communication with the radiologist and coordination with all departments regarding patient transport post-procedure.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a Radiographer Technical training program from an accredited School of Radiography or College-based Radiography program.
- ARRT RT (R) and ARRT RT (CT) certifications required.
- New Jersey State X-Ray License required.
- BLS Certification required.
