Job Description
The CT Technologist will demonstrate professionalism and service excellence while performing a variety of tasks related to patient care and imaging procedures. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established protocols, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout their experience.
Responsibilities
- Obtain necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies for procedures as per protocols.
- Maintain sterility of the field and instruments.
- Communicate with patients and families to alleviate anxiety while respecting privacy and dignity.
- Verify patient identification according to AHS policy.
- Observe patient condition before and after contrast injections, reporting any changes to the nursing staff and radiologist.
- Ensure availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and patient history.
- Assist in emergency response procedures in case of complications.
- Conduct routine cleaning of the CT unit, gantry, and peripheral equipment after each use.
- Coordinate workflow for emergency and unscheduled procedures while maintaining patient safety.
- Notify coordinator or lead about any equipment malfunctions and participate in daily inventory of supplies.
- Adhere to venipuncture and power injector protocols while completing necessary documentation in PACS/RIS.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- High school diploma/GED.
- Completion of a Radiographer Technical training program from an accredited school or college.
- ARRT RT (R) and ARRT RT (CT) certification.
- New Jersey State X-Ray License.
- BLS Certification.
