Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for patient care in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR techs, and other personnel to provide exceptional patient care according to regulatory standards, hospital policies, and surgical department protocols.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and efficient supply management and case preparation.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding patient care and updates.
• Maintain and update physician preference cards.
• Scrub and assist surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Supervise personnel delivering patient care in the operating room.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting with strengths in Ortho, Neuro, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, and Urology.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required.
• Cerner experience is mandatory.
• CNOR certification is preferred.
